WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

School Info Magazine, a publication of SpoltLite Image Limited, is primarily focused on the promotion of the soundest ideals of education, as well as the rating and profiling of schools in major metropolitan cities of Nigeria in accordance with those ideals. Modelled along the three-terms-a-year pattern of Nigeria’s primary and secondary school system, the publication was inspired by what was perceived to be a negative, erroneous trend among parents in particular, and the public in general, of choosing and rating schools, especially private ones, on the basis of some inordinate criteria. The amount of fees charged by a school, its past glories, the nature and quality of its publicity, its location, the achitecture and other aesthetic elements, the false sense of prestige attached to it, the ties between families and school authorities and school owners, the influence of other persons within specific social circles and other rather ridiculous indices tend to be the yardstick with which schools are rated in Nigerian cities nowadays. All these are without recourse to the actual content of education, and the danger that this trend poses to the future of education in the country cannot be overemphasised. The publishers of this Magazine have assembled a team of seasoned scholars, investigators and other professionals with the mandate to objectively carry out first-hand, periodical assessments of schools within the geographical areas of interest, so as to provide a cogent basis for rating schools and guiding parents in chosing them for their children accordingly. We acknowledge that certain schools are founded on specific areas of specialisation, and are committed to beaming our searchlight on such specific, as well as some general, areas. In furtherance of our mission to set a template for the rendering of all-round quality education among schools through our soundly-researched articles and promotional efforts, we are also committed to organising educational and other related competitions periodically among students of different schools in our target cities as a platform for healthy competition, while also handing out attractive prizes as a means of encouragement to schools and their pupils/students. The list of quality schools shall be updated from time to time in accordance with whatever our continuous research and investigations unravel.
